Lots of details to discover in this picture:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Photograph of my mother on the wall right behind the tree<\/li><li>Real candles on the tree. They were replaced by electrical ones after I was born (guess why).<\/li><li>Lots of books on the shelves. Most of the books still exist in a box on the attic.<\/li><li>Also two crime novels on the gift table: &#8222;Gel\u00e4chter in der Nacht&#8220; by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edwy_Searles_Brooks\">Victor Gunn<\/a> and &#8222;Glocken des Todes&#8220; by <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ernst_Hassler\">Ernst Hall<\/a>. No idea if they were good.<\/li><li>A &#8222;Pur-Schaumer&#8220; was a cleaning device. <\/li><li>Car-Pillow with street signs and an inscription &#8222;think of me &#8211; drive careful&#8220;<\/li><li>A film camera. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Standard_8_mm_film\">Double-8<\/a> &#8211; that format was out of fashion at that time, so the camera was not that expensive. Well, they were expecting me in 5 months.<\/li><li>A bottle of wine. Always a good gift (and always better than a cleaning device)<\/li><li>A cooking pot. Was still in use until recently.<\/li><li>A straw picture.<\/li><li>The always useful shirt.<\/li><li>A stool &#8211; I nearly overlooked it. Know it from my childhood. Great play-thing as it rotates.<\/li><li>A plate for <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stollen_(Geb\u00e4ck)\">Stollen<\/a> &#8211; still in use today.<\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christmas 1965, this was before I was born so no gifts for me in that picture.
