As a reminder to myself, here what I did for the photo above. Used equipment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Camera: Nikon D3200<\/li><li>Lens:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/kenrockwell.com\/tokina\/11-20mm.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tokina 11-20mm<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.miops.com\/miops-smart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Miops Trigger<\/a><\/li><li>Tripod<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>First, I adjust the focus by focusing on the horizon (while it is still visible). Then I did 40 shots with increasing ISO (100, 200, 400, 800) to figure out what works best, starting with 10 seconds exposure to 35 seconds. Then I did 100 shots with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>ISO 400<\/li><li>Aperture 2.8<\/li><li>13s exposure time (set camera to &#8222;bulb&#8220;, let the trigger do the timing)<\/li><li>15s interval time (the time the camera needs to process and store)<\/li><li>manual focus<\/li><li>JPG (raw did not give me better pictures)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With 100 pics I got one good shot of a meteorite. A lot of pictures posted online do not show meteorites but\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Satellite_flare#Iridium_flares\" target=\"_blank\">Iridium flares<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; a meteorite is brightest at the end, an Iridium flare is brightest in the middle.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In August as every year, the\u00a0Perseids came visiting.
